When you make a gift in honor of a loved one or family member, we provide a beautiful, emailed thank-you letter. This personalized email features original photography from our programs that serve the New York community, and a note that details the good being done in their name.

Pledges to Catholic Charities allow us to consistently provide help and create hope for at-risk New Yorkers, while also offering you the flexibility to donate over time.

Catholic Charities of New York welcomes gifts, stocks and other securities, and government (including municipal) debt and corporate debt through the Depository Trust Company (DTC). We have an easy mechanism to accept these gifts. For security, settlement and reduced paperwork, electronic transfer through the DTC is preferred. This can be arranged through most brokerage accounts.

In addition to providing help to those in need, a gift of an appreciated investment can have other valuable tax benefits related to capital gains, charitable deductions, and retirement income. Such gifts provide an excellent way to minimize tax liabilities and maximize your philanthropic giving.

Family homes, farms, vacation houses, or other property can be a resource for generating tax deductions and added income. There are several ways to put real estate to work for you and Catholic Charities of New York.

Life estates, donating undivided interests in real estate, transferring real estate into a charitable trust prior to sale, and other strategies can provide solutions to a wide range of financial and estate planning needs. Even when real estate prices drop, many donors still receive significant capital gains. Take advantage of tax savings while enjoying increased income over time.
