In our second century of service, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York continues to deliver on our mission of providing help and creating hope to our neighbors in need — non-Catholics and Catholics alike. There has never been a more important time to serve the basic needs of the poor and vulnerable, and to address inequities in order to build a more prosperous and inclusive New York for all.

This past year, we have been moved by the enormous generosity of our supporters. Some make charitable gifts to us, some volunteer with us, and some serve on our boards. All are critical to our work.

We are grateful to have all types of support from caring neighbors like you. You help us extend the healing power of the Lord through charity across New York. We selected “Charity in Action” as the theme for our 2023 Annual Report as a reflection on our core value — the love of God and of neighbor is authenticated in visible action. Charity is not idle. Charity is action.

Examples abound in this report. Whether feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, caring for children and youth, assisting the disabled, supporting families in crisis, or welcoming and integrating immigrants, Catholic Charities of New York delivers the best possible human services to New Yorkers in need — always with love, dignity, and respect.

As you read on, I hope you feel inspired and proud of your own charity in action. You have provided help and created hope for countless New Yorkers in need. Thank you, again, for making this transformative work possible.
