As we begin a new year, I’ve spent time reflecting on how we can continue to serve our donors with the same care, integrity, and transparency that guide all of our work at Catholic Charities of New York. One of my personal New Year’s resolutions is simple but deeply important: to do a better job of sharing meaningful, reliable resources with those who so generously support our mission.
When we review contracts and consider renewing partnerships, due diligence is not just a procedural step, it is a responsibility. Before we pass along any information or tools to our donors, we want to be confident that those resources are trustworthy, easy to use, and genuinely helpful. That commitment matters to me, and it matters to our organization.
As part of this careful review process, we recently renewed our partnerships with FreeWill and MyCatholicWill. In doing so, we wanted to be certain that the free planning tools they provide could be shared directly with our donors as a resource, without pressure, expectation, or obligation of any kind.
These tools are offered at no cost and with no requirement to support Catholic Charities of New York. They are simply another way we can provide value to our community. Both platforms are designed to be accessible and user-friendly, guiding individuals step by step through the process of creating or updating important plans in a thoughtful and straightforward way.
Our hope is that by sharing carefully vetted resources like these, we continue to earn and honor your trust. Whether or not you choose to engage with these tools, please know that our intention is always to support you with transparency, respect, and care, just as you support our mission to serve New Yorkers in need.
Thank you for being part of our community, and for allowing us the privilege of walking alongside you.
