Meet Our 17th Annual Catholic Charities Gala Honorees

Catholic Charities of New York is gearing up for our gala on June 16, 2026 at the American Museum of Natural History, where we will be honoring two humanitarian leaders with the Deus Caritas Est (“God Is Love”) Award.

Dina M. DiLorenzo

A strong advocate for values-based leadership, Dina M. DiLorenzo chairs Guggenheim’s Sustainable Stewardship Council, overseeing the firm’s ESG and sustainability initiatives, and serves as a Principal Sponsor of Guggenheim’s Veterans Transition Assistance Program. She serves on the Board of Trustees of Lehigh University, where she is a member of both the Academic Affairs Committee and the Investment Committee.

Currently the leader of Guggenheim’s global investment platform, Ms. DiLorenzo has held senior roles at leading financial firms including Smith Barney, UBS, and J.P. Morgan. She has been named one of Barron’s 100 Most Influential Women in U.S. Finance (2025 and 2026), Pensions & Investments’ Influential Women in Institutional Investing, and one of Forbes’s 50 Over 50. She was also honored by American Banker as one of the Most Powerful Women in Banking, selected as a David Rockefeller Fellow, and named one of Crain’s Notable Women in Finance.

Joseph M. Otting

Joseph M. Otting, who served as the 31st United States Comptroller of the Currency from 2017 to 2020, is deeply committed to charitable and community development initiatives. He currently serves on the boards of Andalusian Credit Company, Blockchain, Governors of the Hope Organization, Oasis, and Talino Labs.

Mr. Otting’s career includes roles as President of CIT Bank; President, CEO and Director of OneWest Bank, N.A.; Vice Chairman of U.S. Bancorp; and Board of Directors member for U.S. Bank’s main subsidiary banks. He also held senior leadership positions at Union Bank of California and Bank of America.

We are very grateful to have Ms. DiLorenzo and Mr. Otting as our honorees this year!

The 17th Annual Catholic Charities Gala is currently sold out, but you can support the event, and the work we are doing to serve New York’s most vulnerable, by making a donation.
