Catholic Charities of New York

As I reflect on my four-year journey with Catholic Charities of New York, I’m filled with profound gratitude, humility, and hope. Since joining this remarkable organization in 2022, I have witnessed firsthand how the generosity of partners like you transforms lives across our five boroughs and beyond. Together, we have ensured that thousands of our neighbors, regardless of faith, receive the dignity, care, and support they deserve.

Our mission to provide help and create hope remains as vital today as ever, and your support is central to that mission. As we look ahead, I want to share the many meaningful ways you can join us in extending compassion and strength to those in need.

Many Ways to Give

At Catholic Charities of New York, we understand that generous hearts come in all forms, and that giving can be tailored to your values, financial goals, and legacy priorities.

Below is an overview of options available to you:

One-Time or monthly Giving

Become a sustaining donor through monthly contributions, often the most impactful way to support our ongoing work year-round. Monthly giving provides dependable resources that help us respond quickly and compassionately to community needs. One-time or monthly gifts can be made in

Planned Giving and Legacy Gifts

Planned gifts offer a meaningful way to weave your faith and values into your long-term financial and estate plans. These gifts can:

  • Support our mission long into the future
  • Offer potential tax benefits
  • Allow you to leave a lasting testament of your compassion

You can make legacy gifts through wills, trusts, beneficiary designations, and more and our team is here to guide you through this thoughtful process.

Charitable Gift Annuities

A charitable gift annuity can provide you or a loved one with fixed income for life while supporting the work of Catholic Charities of New York. It’s a beautiful way to combine philanthropy with financial planning.

Gifts of Securities and Appreciated Assets

Gifting stocks, bonds, or other securities can be a tax-efficient way to support the cause you care about. Many donors find this approach advantageous, both for their portfolios and for the people we serve together.

Real Estate and Property Donations

Whether it’s a family home, vacation property, or other real estate, these gifts can be structured to provide tax benefits and support our mission in powerful ways.

IRA Gifts and Retirement Accounts

If you’re 70½ or older, you may be able to transfer up to $100,000 from your IRA  directly to Catholic Charities of New York without paying income tax, a generous way to give while potentially reducing tax liability.

Vehicle Donations

Donating a vehicle you no longer need is simple and impactful. We handle the free towing, and you’ll receive a tax-deductible receipt, all while supporting critical programs throughout New York.

Pledges and Flexible Giving Over Time

Pledges allow donors to commit to support over a period that works best for them, whether monthly, quarterly, or annually, providing predictability for our planning and flexibility for you.

Matching Gifts and Corporate Partnerships

Many employers offer matching gift programs that can double or even triple your impact. Additionally, corporations and foundations can partner with us through grants, sponsorships, and volunteer engagement.

Donor Advised Funds

Directing gifts from a donor advised fund (DAF) is an excellent way to support Catholic Charities of New York. Please be sure to include your name on the memo so we can properly acknowledge your generosity.

Here to Support You If you’re ready to explore giving through any of these vehicles, our team stands ready to help. Feel free to email me or give me a call at 646-794-2018. I’d be honored to answer your questions, walk through options, and tailor a plan that aligns with your values and goals.
