Special Statement from Monsignor Kevin Sullivan: COVID-19

I commend the staff and volunteers of Catholic Charities federation of agencies and programs, who in the midst of this ongoing crisis, continue to provide critically needed services to vulnerable New Yorkers. The needs of those with emotional and physically challenges and those struggling with the basic necessities of food and housing are not suspended while we necessarily focus on the coronavirus pandemic. In fact, in some cases these and similar needs are intensified. I praise the dedication and resourcefulness of our leadership in exercising necessary caution in accord with CDC and other directives to make adjustments to ensure the safety of staff, volunteers and those we serve, and also to carry on and deliver, to the greatest extent possible, services to our neighbors in need. Catholic Charities’ mission compels us to do both: ensure the safety and well-being of our staff and volunteers, and continue to provide help to those in need.
