Catholic Charities Campaign for Help and Hope 2024: Providing support for New Yorkers in need
Parishioners join together this weekend to support Catholic Charities' Campaign for Help and Hope, bringing aid and hope to New Yorkers in need.

This weekend, November 23-24, 2024, Catholic Charities invites you to participate in the Campaign for Help and Hope, an annual tradition that unites our community in serving neighbors in need. During all Masses across the Archdiocese of New York, parishioners have the opportunity to contribute to this vital mission of compassion and dignity.

As Monsignor Kevin Sullivan, Executive Director of Catholic Charities, explains:

“Catholic Charities provides help and creates hope for hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers in need every year, non-Catholics, Catholics alike. Once a year, we have the opportunity to bring that message to all of the parishioners of the Archdiocese of New York. And on the Sunday before Thanksgiving, that weekend, we ask for contributions to support that work of providing help and creating hope.”

How We Help

Monsignor Sullivan emphasizes the breadth of Catholic Charities’ impact:

“What do we do? We provide nutritious meals. What do we do? We build affordable housing. What do we do? We help people who are struggling with the rent to avoid eviction. What do we do? We provide safe, home-like residences for people with certain disabilities who can’t live on their own. And we do so much, so much more.”

Your support of Catholic Charities will allow us to continue to provide help and create hope to our vulnerable neighbors in need.  In the last year alone, we provided essential programs and services across our community including:

  • 10+ million meals served annually to families facing food insecurity.
  • 16,000+ individuals sheltered, offering stability and safety to the homeless.
  • 99,000+ youth and children cared for, creating brighter futures.
  • 4,800+ disabled individuals supported, ensuring compassionate care and dignity.
  • 138,000+ families in crisis assisted, providing the tools to rebuild their lives.

Monsignor Sullivan reminds us of the spirit behind this work:

“We do it with compassion. We do it with respect for the dignity of every person, non-Catholic and Catholic alike, made in God’s image and likeness.”
