Andrea Cunningham will be among the 13 participants supporting Catholic Charities who will run in the 2021 TCS New York City Marathon Nov. 7. She will run in support of the St. Nicholas Project, a Catholic Charities of New York Christmas season program that provides over a thousand New York families with warm winter essentials.

Andrea has worked for the past 13 years for Catholic Community Services (CCS), Washington State. Her current position at CCS is as a Program Manager for the Refugee Resettlement and Homeless Housing Programs. Andrea has been continually impressed with the work that Catholic Charities does in communities across the country.

Andrea started running while attending the University of Washington. She ran her first-half marathon with her dad in 2006. She also ran two other half-marathons, one in Bellingham and the other at Teton National Park in Wyoming. In January 2013, Andrea completed her first marathon in Japan, an opportunity she was given by the Bellingham Sister City Organization.

When Andrea discovered that Catholic Charities New York was listed as one of the participating charities for the NYC Marathon, she immediately applied. Andrea has never been to New York City, but she feels that running through the Big Apple would be an epic way to close out her 39th year. Andrea’s husband and parents will be coming with her and cheering her on along the route.

Andrea is grateful to all those who can help support her in reaching her fundraising goal.

Please join Andrea in raising money for the families enrolled in the St. Nicholas Project
