Hunger poses a serious threat to both human life and dignity, requiring our urgent and sustained attention. Right now, an estimated 1.5 million New Yorkers are struggling to get enough food. Alarmingly, 1 in 4 are children. With the rising cost of groceries, food pantries are seeing more visitors than ever before.
While food is only one aspect of our work, it’s central to creating a caring community. Food is not a luxury, and food saves lives. Through our Feeding Our Neighbors program, we focus on ensuring that no one in need is turned away.

Thanks to your support in 2024, we achieved incredible results:
• Served 230,000+ meals through our community kitchens
• Provided 10+ million meals through our vast network
• Delivered 108,000+ meals to homebound neighbors
• Helped 7,500+ people enroll in nutritional assistance programs
Feeding Our Neighbors
Through our lifesaving food programs, we reach 50,000 New Yorkers monthly across over 40 food sites throughout New York. Our extensive network includes food pantries, soup kitchens, mobile pantries, meal delivery services to those who are homebound, and a food distribution hub to make this possible.

Providing Nourishment and Hope in Challenging Times
No one should face the impossible choice between paying rent or buying food. Our programs supply groceries to families and individuals who cannot afford a trip to the grocery store. Volunteers distribute a three- to seven-day supply of fresh produce, meat, poultry and nonperishable items based on family size, helping households stretch their budgets.
In addition, our soup kitchens serve hot, wholesome meals with kindness to those in need across New York. Meals are also delivered to seniors and others who are homebound, ensuring no one is forgotten.
Acting Swiftly in Emergencies
When a neighborhood faces an urgent food crisis, Catholic Charities of New York mobilizes to provide emergency relief. Our teams bring food directly to these areas, ensuring residents in crisis get the help they need. During these distributions, boxes and bags filled with fresh and shelf-stable items are handed out to individuals and families, with lines often stretching around the block.
Help Reach More New Yorkers in Need
If we can raise $50,000, we could sponsor a food pantry for one year; or provide enough food for 20 families for an entire year; or host five emergency food distribution sites for communities in urgent need. You’ll not only provide food, but also dignity and hope for those who need it most.
Please make a gift today to reach more New Yorkers in need.
