As part of Catholic Charities of New York division Alianza’s participation in New York City’s Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP), participants aged 14–15 were invited to the viral landmark Stoop and the City. Its founders, Upper East Side residents David Guttag and Kristi Hemric, pivoted their careers and turned their knack for photography and exterior design into a growing, durable digital brand.
The youth had the opportunity to talk directly with David, expanding their understanding of creative or unexpected roads to success.
SYEP is the nation’s largest youth employment program. It connects New York City youth between the ages of 14 and 24 with career exploration opportunities and paid work experience each summer. Catholic Charities of New York and its Federation of Agencies are grateful to be able to provide many of these work opportunities.
Thank you, Stoop and the City, for your time and wisdom!
