The Catholic Charities Junior Board will sponsor an Adopt a Family Shopping Party on Saturday, Nov. 19, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Old Navy Store, 151 East 86th Street Manhattan.

Participants will shop for warm winter clothing essentials for the St. Nicholas Project, which assists more than 6,000 needy New Yorkers each year. They will purchase clothing for needy families via funds donated to the St. Nicholas Project. A total of 15 families selected by Catholic Charities’ agency partners Encore and Mercy Center will be recipients with the goal being to raise at least $6,000 for New York’s needy.

Participants are asked to register by noon on Nov. 18. On the morning of Nov. 19, they will gather at Old Navy by 8:30 and will be assigned to shopping groups. Donuts and coffee will be served and after the Shopping Party there will be an optional brunch gathering, location to be determined.
