ohn McMahon will be among the 13 participants supporting Catholic Charities who will run in the 2021 TCS New York City Marathon Nov. 7. He will run in support of the St. Nicholas Project, a Catholic Charities of New York Christmas season program that provides over a thousand New York families with warm winter essentials.

I am excited to partner with Catholic Charities for the 2021 NYC Marathon (my first)! I am 27 years old, originally hail from Mount Vernon, New York, and currently live in Manhattan. I’ve worked in the commercial real estate industry for six years, immediately following my graduation from Marquette University.

My father passed away in November of 2019, the morning after the NYC marathon. I decided that I wanted to run the marathon primarily as a way to honor and remember him. As I began my search for charities and organizations to partner with, Catholic Charities jumped off the page. This is an organization that he respected and held in high regard, as his brother has been a resident in a Catholic Charities special needs home for many years. I’ve seen the positive influence that Catholic Charities has on so many first-hand and consider it an honor to be able to raise money on their behalf!
