Catholic Charities of New York stands in solidarity with the people of Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, and the Caribbean as they begin to recover from the devastation left by Hurricane Fiona. We pray for everyone’s safety and affirm our commitment to assist in recovery efforts throughout the region. As we did five years ago, after Hurricane Maria, we are prepared to support the local work of Caritas Puerto Rico and other organizations already on the ground assisting those most affected.
In a unified relief effort with our long-time partner in Puerto Rico, Estoy con Puerto Rico, Catholic Charities New York is collecting emergency donations to assist in the recovery of impacted areas to deliver much-needed assistance to the people affected. Here is how you can make a difference.
Estoy con Puerto Rico includes Comité Noviembre*, a consortium of Puerto Rican leaders and organizations, that together with Catholic Charities New York, will provide much-needed assistance directly to help the people.
“I witnessed firsthand the hands-on work of Estoy con Puerto Rico and Comité Noviembre after Hurricane Maria and the 5.8 and 6.4 earthquakes in early 2020. We are pleased to partner again to provide relief to the people of Puerto Rico,” said Monsignor Kevin Sullivan, Executive Director, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York.
For these islands’ poor and vulnerable people, reliving the trauma of natural disasters is difficult. Our commitment to the people remains as strong today as it was then.
Please continue to pray for the people of Puerto Rico as they recover from the devastation caused by Hurricane Fiona. Donate to help by using our secure online form.
