Join us in building on our 114-Year Legacy of creating a Better New York

Catholic Charities of New York is proud to be the oldest beneficiary of The New York Times Communities Fund (formerly The New York Times Neediest Cases Fund). For over a century, our partnership has enabled us to address and solve critical problems facing New Yorkers in need.
This year’s campaign goal is to raise $1M to support youth programming in two critical areas: special education and early intervention. In addition, this year’s donations will also support eviction prevention educational programming for adults.

Housing Educational Programming
Catholic Charities and its network of agencies support households facing eviction and homelessness through a robust cohort of caseworkers; these caseworkers implement comprehensive service plans, including adult education classes, to teach community members how to avoid housing crises.
We work to assist our clients in managing household budgets, understanding tenant rights and responsibilities, maintaining positive landlord-tenant relationships, improving communication and conflict resolution skills, finding safe, affordable housing, and building basic job readiness skills.
These adult education classes collectively work to ensure that the short-term financial emergencies that bring a family to our agencies in search of eviction prevention services do not happen again.
A gift of $1,626 provides one client with a year of eviction prevention educational support.
