Catholic Guardian Society and Home Bureau was founded in 1899. It provides child abuse and neglect prevention, foster care, group residences for teens, family reunification, adoption, family day care, juvenile justice services, a privately funded Maternity Services and Adoption Program, including international adoptions and a Post Adoption Services program funded by the State of New York. They also provide a shelter program through NYC’s Department of Homeless Services, and residential and respite services for individuals diagnosed with developmental disabilities through the NYS Office for Persons with Developmental Disabilities.
