Haitians Helping Haitians
The Haitian Response Initiative is a collaboration between Immigrant & Refugee Services, Catholic Charities Community Services, Archdiocese of New York; NYC’s Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs, and seven Haitian-led community-based organizations (CBOs) in New York City to provide culturally and linguistically responsive services to newly arrived Haitian immigrant New Yorkers. Services include robust know-your-rights presentations, legal consultations and assistance with Temporary Protected Status applications as well as other humanitarian relief, and representation in removal proceedings. Our CBO partners are:
• Caribbean Women’s Health Association
• Diaspora Community Service
• Flanbwayan Literacy Project
• Haitian American Community Coalition
• Haitian Americans United for Progress
• Haitian Women for Haitian Refugees
• Life of Hope
