Young Corporate Restructuring Industry Professionals Networking

July 11, 2018

Breakfast at the Cardinal's Residence

Bordeaux Masterclass Wine Tasting

April 24, 2018

Masters of Wine, Mary Gorman-McAdams and Mary Ewing-Mulligan, led a masterclass on Bordeaux classified growths.  The vertical tasting followed three wines over three vintages.  The event was underwritten by several supporting firms.

Members of the corporate restructuring industry gathered for evening mass at Church of Our Saviour.  Mass was celebrated by Monsignor Kevin Sullivan, Executive Director of Catholic Charities.  

 

Young Professionals' Midnight Run

November 8, 2017

The Midnight Run doesn’t happen at midnight and doesn’t involve running, but it does help New Yorkers in need. Catholic Renewal’s Young Professionals Group assembled and distributed food and socks to homeless people throughout New York City. The distribution of items took place in the area surrounding Penn Station.

 

Fall Mass and Fellowship

Members of the corporate restructuring industry gathered for evening mass at Church of Our Saviour.  Mass was celebrated by Monsignor Kevin Sullivan, Executive Director of Catholic Charities.  Fellowship followed at the Union League Club.

 

The Fall Reception

September 25, 2017

Thanks to the generous supporters of the 2017 Fall Reception, Catholic Renewal raised nearly $1.2 million to provide food to those in need.  In light of Puerto Rico's particular need this year, more than $100,000 of funds raised were earmarked to help provide aid there.  

The reception, held at the New York Athletic Club, honored key leaders in New York’s restructuring community including Patrick J. Nash, Jr. of Kirkland & Ellis and The Honorable Arthur J. Catholic Renewal raised more than $900,000 to assist Catholic Charities in feeding the hungry throughout the Archdiocese of New York. More than 185 sponsoring firms contributed approximately $870,000 and the inaugural Catholic Renewal Live and Online Auction raised an additional $47,000, helping further Catholic Renewal’s mission of providing meals for those in need. The event was held at the New York Athletic Club and honored D.J. (Jan) Baker, Partner of Latham & Watkins, who was presented with the 2016 St. Francis Service Award. Thanks to the more than 500 professionals in the restructuring industry who attended the event as well as to all the sponsoring firms.

Fifth Annual Cocktail Reception benefiting Catholic Charities

Catholic Renewal raised more than $1.1 million to assist Catholic Charities in feeding the hungry throughout the Archdiocese of New York. Sponsoring firms contributed to more than $835,000 and the Jones Day Foundation provided a grant in the amount of $250,000 for Feeding Our Neighbors. The event was held at the New York Athletic Club and honored Corinne Ball, Partner of Jones Day, who was presented with the 2015 St. Francis Service Award by His Eminence Timothy Michael Cardinal Dolan. Thanks to the more than 500 professionals in the restructuring industry who attended the event as well as all the sponsoring firms.

More than 25 Catholic Renewal Young Professionals came together for a ‘Midnight Run’ to assemble and distribute food to homeless people throughout New York City. Afterwards, they regrouped for cocktails and networking with fellow Midnight Runners.

Special thanks to Kirkland and Ellis, a Diamond Sponsor, for graciously hosting the event at their conference center in New York City. Alan W. Kornberg, chair of the bankruptcy and corporate reorganization department of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, was presented with the 2014 St. Francis Service Award. Thanks to all of our sponsors and the 500-plus restructuring professionals who attended the event.

Catholic Renewal raised more than $300,000 to assist Catholic Charities in feeding the hungry throughout the Archdiocese of New York.  The reception was held at the Kirkland & Ellis Conference Center. It honored Barry W. Ridings, managing director of Lazard Frères & Co. LLC, for his steadfast commitment to the Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York and the corporate restructuring industry.  More than 200 restructuring professionals attended the event along with His Eminence, Edward Cardinal Egan.

This weekend on JustLove, Prof. Cara Drinan J.D. talks with Msgr. Sullivan about the death penalty and its application here in the United States in light of the Pope Francis's recent revision to the Catechism regarding the inadmissibility of the death penalty's application. Brady Funn III also talks to with Msgr. Sullivan about the support that Catholic Charities gives different types of families through its various ministries, in light of the upcoming “World Meeting of Families” in Dublin, Ireland from August 21st to 26th. On Sirius XM 129: Saturday at 10am and Sunday at 5am.
