St. Benedict’s Day Nursery

Services Provided:
Day Care Programs

St. Benedict’s Day Nursery was founded in 1923 under the auspices of Catholic Charities by the Franciscan Handmaids of the Most Pure Heart of Mary at the request of Cardinal Hayes, Archbishop of New York. This Catholic nonprofit day care center was established in response to the needs of working parents in the Harlem community. It evolved into one of the first preschool educational programs in the United States. St. Benedict’s Day Nursery prepares children of today for the world of tomorrow. It provides a holistic, preschool education in a Christian atmosphere for the children of working parents. Here children grow spiritually, intellectually, physically, emotionally and socially.
