2 Min Read. This weekend, Catholic Charities of Staten Island, an agency of Catholic Charities of New York, is hosting two events on Staten Island at the Mount Loretto campus in Pleasant Plains – the largest Food Truck Festival on Staten Island and the annual softball game where the borough’s Democrats take on the Republicans in a charity faceoff benefiting Catholic Charities of Staten Island and On Your Mark.

The political softball matchup, dating back to 2013, begins at 10:00 am on the campus of Mount Loretto, located at 6581 Hyland Boulevard. Join the fun and cheer on your favorite political party.

After the game, stop by the Food Truck Festival. Featuring a backdrop of live music, two-dozen food trucks and pop-up beer and sangria gardens, the event will take place on Saturday, June 22nd and Sunday, June 23rd, from Noon to 8:00 PM. $5 event tickets may be purchased on the CCSI website and parking is always free.

“This event is the perfect kickoff to summer. We’ve got a great weekend in store for the Staten Island community to enjoy with friends and family,” Vincent Ignizio, CEO of Catholic Charities of Staten Island told the Staten Island Advance.
