Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York employees recently joined nearly 200 people to form a human chain at the NYU Islamic Center. As a sign of solidarity in the wake of the New Zealand mosque shootings, “Stand Together NY,” united people of all faiths in the name of peace.
Monsignor Kevin Sullivan, Executive Director for Catholic Charities, in a recent Catholic New York interview, said, “For us as Christians, today being a Lenten Friday, [it] is particularly important that we stand together with our sisters and brothers.” Rabbi Joseph Potasnik, Executive Vice President of the New York Board of Rabbis, also joined the interfaith peace rally along with Eric Goldstein, CEO of the UJA Federation.
