Summary: This position is responsible for the implementation and monitoring the service delivery of the internship piece under the LTW contract. Documents delivery of contractual services such seminar, site information; develops materials/lessons to strengthen participants' exposure to job readiness and career exploration. This position will serve as liaison between internship sites representative, program and student.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop and maintain internship partners
    • Conduct internship sites visits once a month,
    • Contact internship sites once a week via telephone or email
    • Create and update internship site list and contact information
    • Monitors sites to ensure interns are having positive and age-appropriate work experiences
  • Place 45 Students in subsidized internships during the academic year/ 20 students during the Summer
    • Assist students' complete paperwork process for internship placement
    • Monitor the students' performance and complete evaluation
    • Assist students' completion and submission of timesheets
    • Create and maintain all interns’ files
  • Interns at placement
    • Create and maintain a working-alliance with all interns
    • Conduct check-ins with students at internship besides seminars
    • Support in tracking students' academic progress using report cards, and progress reports
    • Track/monitor interns’ attendance patterns and provide follow-ups: phone calls, meeting with intern and/or conference with student and advocate counselor as needed
    • Responsible of inputting all services in the Career First system: job description, internship sites information, intern number of hours worked, and seminar attendance among other
  • Facilitate LTW Weekly Seminar
    • Create curriculum/lesson for seminar on topics of Work Readiness, Financial Literacy, Career Exploration
    • Track interns' attendance in seminar
  • Assist Students not participating in subsidized internships provide with non-paid community service/ service-learning placements during the academic year, upon request.
    • Develop and maintain partners with potential community services opportunities
    • Assist students ' complete any form and placement in community services site
    • Track volunteering students and number of hours completed
    • Prepares Community Services letters upon completion
  • Assist in the process of outreach, recruitment and admission
    • Outreach and recruit new students for school/program
    • Assist in the admission process (open houses, orientation, etc.)
  • Graduates Students
    • Provide assistance to graduating students with search for employment after graduation
    • Assist in Resume & cover letters creation, as needed

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

Days and hours are generally Monday to Friday 8am-4 pm. This is a full-time position will require evening and occasional Saturday hours to monitor after school and summer programs, and attend special   events.

  • Ability and patience to work with young people, recognizing their exuberance and juvenile behavior, particularly in group settings.
  • Remain in a stationary position working at a computer at least 30% of the time or monitoring activities.
  • Move for long periods, providing instruction or facilitating workshops.
  • Travel when visiting work sites or taking field trips, using public transportation, traverse city streets, ascend/descend stairs, and be exposed to outside weather conditions, sometimes while escorting youth.


Education and/or experience required:

  • Bachelor Degree in related field required
  • Prior experience in the social service field
  • At least 2 years of experience working in the field of youth development
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

Skills, Licenses, and/or competencies required:

  • Strong communication, organizational, and administrative skills
  • Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Bilingual, English and Spanish/Arabic/French/Chinese preferred
  • Demonstrate leadership ability
