Job Title: Case Manager (RSSP)

Department: Refugee Resettlement 

Office(s): 80 Maiden Lane and Yonkers 

Reports to: Director of Refugee Resettlement 

Summary: Conduct evaluation/intake of Refugee Social Services Program (RSSP) clients. Enroll participants in program. Complete contract forms, self-sufficiency plan, individual service plan, and enrollment and referrals for relevant social services. Compile draft resumes for clients. Work closely with volunteers and interns. Provide administrative, data entry and program support. Manage contract performance, assist with claims/billing and reports. 

Job Responsibilities/Tasks: 

Intake, Assessment, Enrollment, Case Management
•    Oversee cases including intake, assessment, enrollment, and case management.
•    Support clients with social service needs, make referrals, and advocate for clients as needed to advance their cases and improve their situation.
•    Work with clients, trainers, job developers, interns, volunteers and managers to assist clients with their goals.
•    Answer client phone inquiries and schedule appointments to meet with clients.
•    Write case notes and maintain copies of documents and reports in each case file.
•    Prepare referral letters for participants needing social services.
•    Other duties as required.

Data Entry and Reports 

•    Perform data entry of intake and program forms.
•    Maintain client roster.
•    Assist director to track claims/billing and ensure that we meet program performance goals.
•    Assist with non-OTDA/BRS eligible cases as needed, including tracking demographic information to report to OTDA/BRS.

Administrative Support 

•    Retrieve client records from files and transfer/close files as appropriate.
•    Handle logistical arrangements for meetings/training/orientations.
•    Assist with preparing/copying orientation/training materials and update resource materials.


Education and/or experience required: 

•    College degree required.
•    2 years working in a social service setting with immigrants or refugees.
•    Prior social services casework and administrative experience.

Skills, Licenses, and/or competencies required: 

•    Highly motivated and self-starter.
•    Strong organizational and analytical skills. Excellent communication (oral & written), and interpersonal skills.
•    Ability to prioritize and handle multiple complex tasks.
•    Strong computer skills.
•    Fluent in English and Spanish.
