Family Volunteer Day is a day of service that demonstrates and celebrates the power of families who volunteer together, supporting their neighborhoods, communities and the world. This day is strategically held on the Saturday before Thanksgiving to “kick-off” the holiday season with giving and service.

On Saturday, November 19th, Catholic Charities of NY will host its 2nd annual National Family Volunteer Day. On this day we hope to engage your family in service projects that will benefit the individuals we serve: New Yorkers in need.

Projects include:

  • Volunteer home-made Christmas cards  (ages 2 and up)
  • Volunteer DIY Christmas decorations (ages 2 and up)
  • Blessings Bags  (ages 7 and up)
  • Volunteer DIY no-sew fleece blankets  (ages 11 and up)
  • Volunteer DIY snow globes  (ages 13 and up)
  • Volunteer DIY Quiet Books (ages 13 and up) See examples here

After your project, share your family volunteer day story on for a chance to win $1,000 Shopping Gift Card or a night out with the family.
