Join Us in Making December a Month of Light

Let’s make December, the month of Hanukkah, Christmas and blessed holidays around the world, a month of light.

#ALightForAmerica, an initiative of New York’s 92nd Street Y in collaboration with Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York, the Partnership of Faith, UJA-Federation of New York, and Federation of Protestant Welfare Agencies, invites you to join our digital vigil this holiday season.

We welcome everyone to stand with us for kindness, peace and love.

How it works:

  • We created an image of a candle and a three-second video of one candle lighting another. Download the images
  • Starting today, join us in standing up for kindness by tagging three people to spread the light.
  • It’s simple.  Share this blog or post the image or video on social (particularly Instagram/Twitter) with the message below:

#ALightForAmericaLet’s stand for kindness, peace and love. I’m sharing the light with @person A, @person B, @person C. Please pass it on.

  • Got it? It’s as simple as 1, 2, 3:
    1. 1. Post our images or create your own showing you lighting candles.
    2. 2. Nominate three more people to do the same thing.
    3. 3. Keep our chain going or create a new one.

Stand up for kindness, peace and love.  Make December a month of light!
