Inside Tips & Tricks from Team Catholic Charities NY Runners

It’s September and the heat is on for our Team Catholic Charities NY runners as they train for the big day, the TCS New York City Marathon on Sunday, November 6, 2017.

They’ll cover 26 miles and all five of New York City’s boroughs.

How do they do it?

Let’s hear today from Team Catholic Charities Runner Ryan McConnell.

By Ryan McConnell

Although I settled in Florida, I have deep running roots in the New York area.  I ran varsity Cross Country and Track and Field for Bishop Hendricken High School in Rhode Island.  And I continued my passion for running at Iona College in New Rochelle, NY where I was All-State and All-New England.   It has been a life goal to run a marathon. Now I work for Moroneys' Religious Art in Fort Lauderdale as a sales representative in Palm Beach County, Florida.

I am very excited for the opportunity to run for Catholic Charities of NY in the 2017 TCS New York City Marathon on November 5, 2017.  I have witnessed firsthand how Catholic Charities provides for the community.  It is an honor to be part of Team Catholic Charities.

Running for Catholic Charities gives me the opportunity to raise money for a great organization that helps the most vulnerable regardless of background or religion.  Catholic Charities feeds the hungry, shelters the homeless, helps families through affordable housing and job training, and provides many other great services and programs.

I look forward to fundraising and training for such a worthy cause that provides help to over 350,000+ each year.

Thank you in advance for your generosity.
