Special Shout Out to Catholic Daughters of America

What a great way to start the Easter season!  Thanks to the Catholic Daughters of America, one of the oldest and largest organizations of Catholic women in America the holiday came early e for babies, children and young moms we serve at our Catholic Charities upstate offices.

Laden with gifts as if they were the Easter Bunny, Catholic Daughters of America, from Holy Rosary Church donated more than 800 new baby items for distribution through Catholic Charities of Orange, Sullivan and Ulster counties.  Not to be outdone, the parish’s altar rosary confraternity donated $500 in cash to help new moms and moms-to-be served by Catholic Charities.  Meanwhile, Catholic Daughters from St. Mary’s Church in Washingtonville donated huge Easter baskets overflowing with chocolate bunnies, books, clothing and gift cards for upstate families served by Catholic Charities.

“We are blessed to have generous community partners, like the Catholic Daughters of St. Mary’s,” said Kristin Jensen, Chief Advancement Officer, Catholic Charities of Orange, Sullivan, and Ulster. We are grateful for their continued kindness.”

Catholic Charities of Orange, Sullivan, and Ulster, one of the human service agencies of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York, serves the homeless, the hungry, the emotionally and physically handicapped, as well as immigrants, and the marginalized and vulnerable of Orange, Sullivan, and Ulster Counties.

“Their warm hearts and caring spirits will make this Easter even more special for a family that is struggling to make ends meet,” Ms. Jensen added.
