Deep Roots in the Archdiocese

Katherine shares her passion for the Archdiocese and how it drove her to run the NYC Marathon

My name is Katherine Valentino and I am the social media and web manager at the Archdiocese of New York. This will be my first marathon and actually first running race ever!

So, why run a marathon for Catholic Charities? I have deep roots in the Archdiocese and I’ve been a Catholic New Yorker my whole life. I attended Saints John and Paul in Larchmont for elementary school and the Ursuline School in New Rochelle for junior high and high school. I continued my Catholic-driven education at Boston College. After graduating BC, I traveled back to New York and now work and spend most of my time at the archdiocese.

I have the opportunity to see on a daily basis all the great work that Catholic Charities and the many other offices at 1011 do for the parishioners of the Archdiocese of New York and beyond! I’ve become even more familiar with Catholic Charities through their Junior Board which I’ve volunteered with to make and distribute meals for the homeless in NYC. I’m also involved with Part of the Solution (POTS) agency that is supported by Catholic Charities.

I look forward to fundraising and training to raise money for such a great organization! Thank you in advance for your generosity.
