Rockland County, New York does not have an official homeless shelter where adults can go to keep warm 24/7. The Haverstraw Center and Catholic Charities Community Services of Rockland County have partnered to help fill the need in the community. During the day, a warming center is operational at the Haverstraw Center. At night, Catholic Charities of Rockland provides a shuttle bus from Haverstraw, Nyack and Spring Valley to Pomona for anyone in need of a warm place to stay for the night.

According to News 12 Westchester, "Pre-COVID, we got up to 50, 60 people. With COVID, we're hovering around the 20-23 mark," says Dennis Rolon, warming center manager of Catholic Charities Community Services of Rockland.
