  • Memorials & Tributes

    In Honor of...

Making a gift to Catholic Charities is a wonderful way to celebrate a milestone or honor someone important in your life. Whether it is for a birthday, graduation, anniversary, Mother's Day or Father's day or in honor of a relative, friend or colleague, a gift has added meaning when you are providing help and creating hope for New Yorkers in need.

    In Memory of...
Using a charitable gift that helps those in need is a most fitting tribute to remember a loved one who passed away. In lieu of flowers, a gift in memory of a beloved relative, friend or colleague can provide a particularly meaningful way to help those in need.

When a gift is made in tribute, a card is sent to that individual or to a family member that you might designate to inform them of your thoughtfulness. Unless requested, the gift amount will not be included. As a donor, you will be sent a separate gift acknowledgment for tax purposes.

  • Partnership Giving Opportunities

For more than 100 years, The Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York has been a valuable partner of foundations, corporations and governmental entities in serving New Yorkers in need of all religions and in fostering the common good. A New York City mayor considered Catholic Charities' role as so essential that he said, "I do not know how I could run New York City without Catholic Charities."

New York Times Neediest Cases Campaign
Catholic Charities is proud to be one of the seven social service agencies that are a partner and beneficiary of the annual New York Times Neediest Cases Campaign. Donors may make their NY Times Neediest Cases donations directly to participating agencies such as Catholic Charities. These contributions make a great impact on our ability to serve those in need because the NY Times Company Foundation covers the campaign's administrative costs.

    United Way
Donors may designate The Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York as the recipient of the pledges and contributions they make in their workplace campaigns. These contributions are processed by United Way and then disbursed to Catholic Charities. Donors will receive credit for supporting their company's United Way campaign and also directly help Catholic Charities.

  • Real Estate & Property

Family homes, farms, vacation houses or other property can be a resource for generating tax deductions and added income. There are several ways to put real estate to work for you and Catholic Charities.

Life estates, donating undivided interests in real estate, transferring real estate into a charitable trust prior to sale and other strategies can provide solutions to a wide range of financial and estate planning needs.

Even when real estate prices drop, many donors still have significant capital gains. Take advantage of tax savings while enjoying increased income over time.

  • Securities

Catholic Charities welcomes gifts, stocks and other securities. We have an easy mechanism to accept these gifts. In addition to providing help to those in need, a gift of an appreciated investment can have other valuable tax benefits related to capital gains, charitable deductions and retirement income. Such gifts provide an excellent way to minimize tax liabilities and maximize your philanthropic giving.
