Watch out. The National Weather Service issued a Heat Advisory today and NYC’s Department of Homeless Services issued a Code Red Alert.  Temperatures are hitting the 90s, high rises are trapping humidity and it seems like the sun is burning off blacktops.

National Puerto Rican Day Parade

The National Puerto Rican Day Parade (NPRDP) will be held on Sunday, June 12th along NYC’s Fifth Avenue.

As a writer and Catholic Charities volunteer blogger it was amazing to watch last Friday, May 20, as successful corporate women from the media company, Viacom, mentored struggling women preparing to reenter the workforce thanks to Grace Institute, an affiliate of Catholic Charities.
