Raise Key Funds for Catholic Charities

Athletic aces Mike Richter, Joe Klecko and Rusty Staub teamed with 51 foursomes at the 31st Annual Cardinal’s Golf Open at Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, NY on Monday, May 15, to have fun and raise funds for Catholic Charities.  Here, on what is called one of the ten best parkland-style golf courses in the world, participants teed off, dined, shouted auction bids and raised nearly $650,000 to support Catholic Charities’ mission to help New Yorkers in need.

Highlights included:

  • Seeing former New York Ranger and 1994 Stanley Cup winning team member Mike Richter drive the ball as only a professional athlete can
  • Hearing Former NY Jet Defensive Lineman Joe Klecko, member of the famed “New York Sack Exchange”, auction off sports memorabilia and more
  • Watching Cardinal Dolan joke with former New York Met Rusty Staub during Rusty’s signature fund-a-need wine auction

Our annual golf outing is just one of many special events hosted by the Cardinal's Committee for Charity to support the work of Catholic Charities. These events are festive, fun opportunities to come together to raise essential funds to provide help and create hope for thousands of New Yorkers in need.

The Cardinal's Committee for Charity seeks to attract a wide circle of New Yorkers to ensure that the business community's tradition of philanthropy continues into the future. The generosity of members enables tens of thousands of individuals and families to live with greater dignity through the compassionate help of Catholic Charities.

A special shout out to some of our major donors at this year’s Cardinal’s Golf Open including:

  • Jones Day Partner and event patron Corinne Ball
  • Event Sponsors:
